Announcing Kloud Retreat: An Exclusive and Free LGBTQ+ Songwriting Retreat

This October, the East Sussex countryside is about to get a serious dose of queer creativity as Kloud Retreat hosts its very first LGBTQ+ songwriting retreat. Organised by Kyla Stroud, a queer artist and songwriter, this retreat is all about talent, community, and celebrating the rich diversity of the LGBTQ+ music scene. The best part, it’s free and completely funded by sponsors.

Kloud Retreat has 21 spaces for the UK’s best LGBTQ+ musical talents, ranging from fresh-faced newcomers to seasoned pros. Whether you’re just starting your journey or already have a record deal under your belt, this retreat is designed to be an inclusive and supportive space where you can find new creative collaborations.

Kloud Retreats has a crystal-clear mission: to fuel creativity within the LGBTQ+ music community. Music isn’t just sound; it’s a way to break down barriers, uplift voices, and foster understanding within and beyond our community. The retreat is crafted to empower artists to be their truest selves, share their stories, and build meaningful connections with fellow queer creatives.

A Week of Creative Magic and Connection

Set on a stunning country estate in East Sussex, Kloud Retreat offers the perfect backdrop for a week of inspiration and bonding. Here’s a taste of what’s in store:

  • 4-Nights Accommodation: Stay at a charming farmhouse estate that screams cosy vibes and creative energy.
  • Daily Writing Sessions: Work alongside other LGBTQ+ musical talents in sessions designed to bring out the best in your songwriting.
  • Catered Communal Meals: Enjoy delicious meals together, because nothing builds community like breaking bread with fellow artists.
  • Morning Yoga: Kickstart your day with optional yoga sessions, designed to centre your mind and body for the creative work ahead.
  • Evening Activities: Unwind with campfires, movie nights, and other activities that help you connect with your fellow retreat-goers.
  • End-of-Week Showcase: The grand finale—a song showcase and music mixer where you’ll debut your freshly written tracks in front of an audience of friends, fans, and industry insiders.

Kloud Retreat is backed by some big names in the industry, including Marshall, Session Studio, Groover, and Nonchalant Magazine. Plus, the retreat’s catering is handled by The Food Witch, aka Sal Dhalla, who brings her magic as a fellow queer community member.
