Not Your First Rodeo? Flirrrt London Is the Party You’ve Been Waiting For

Prepare yourselves, London’s lesbians and assorted huns! Flirrrt London, a new lesbian-focused event that’s been brewing a delicious storm of anticipation, has officially had its hard launch. And if the buzz is anything to go by, it’s about to become your new go-to for queer connection, killer tunes, and a whole lot of “fuck yeah” energy.

Flirrrt London, founded by the dynamic duo Angel and Nerina, isn’t about sticky floors and awkward small talk. It’s a response to a very real, and increasingly urgent, need: a space where “well-seasoned” sapphics (their words, and we adore them) and the entire FLINTA* community can feel seen, celebrated, and ready to party.

“We all have our needs, things that tick our desire boxes,” Angel explains, reflecting on the inspiration behind Flirrrt. “As you get older, you feel this more…The ‘fuck that’ kicks in real hard… when you become, let’s say ‘well seasoned’ haha!”

And that “fuck that” attitude? It’s precisely what fuelled the creation of Flirrrt. Angel and Nerina, with a combined 12 years of experience managing events at a private members’ club, saw a gaping hole – a chasm, really – in London’s LGBTQIA+ women’s scene. They weren’t about to let the vibrant, ‘experienced’ members of the community be relegated to quiet nights in, scrolling through endless dating profiles.

This isn’t just another club night; it’s a statement. Flirrrt London is fiercely committed to being a women-led, trans/NB inclusive space. “We are deeply passionate about inclusivity and it is essential that it is felt,” Angel emphasises. They’re unequivocally not aligned with TERF or SWERF ideologies: “We have zero tolerance on this ever being present at a Flirrrt event.”

This commitment comes from a place of genuine empathy and lived experience. “Women are tired of always fighting for what they need,” Angel says. Flirrrt is about creating a space where that fight isn’t necessary – where everyone feels safe, respected, and ready to connect.

Solo? No Problem. Flirrrt’s Got You Covered

One of the most beautiful things about Flirrrt is its welcoming atmosphere. Angel and Nerina have seen first-hand how quickly newcomers, even those arriving solo, are embraced. “They are soon enough scooped up… and included into a really joyous, warm and excited vibe, dancing as one.”

They even recounted a “gorgeous little connection” that blossomed at their first event, proving that Flirrrt is about building lasting bonds. And if you’re feeling apprehensive, reach out! “Tell us you are coming alone and we will take care of the rest.”

Let’s talk about the music. Resident DJs Ariela and HaLo-iS bring a staggering 60 years of combined experience to the decks. They’re not just playing music; they’re crafting an experience. “They musically encapsulate the unified attitude of the dance floor, it’s fucking magical watching this,” Angel says. “Complete strangers dancing with each other, whoops of fuck yeahs, massive smiles…”

Flirrrt London is fighting back against a devastating trend. Remember Candy Bar? Oak Bar? Glass Bar? Gone. Poof. Vanished into the ether of rising rents and changing demographics. The list of fallen LGBTQIA+ venues in London is heartbreakingly long, and with each closure, a piece of our community’s history and a vital safe space disappears. Flirrrt is a defiant roar against this silence. It is a statement of the sheer amount of venues that have closed.

“We still need more queer women’s spaces… where our trans community will always feel welcomed and safe.”

The Verdict? Flirrrt London is Exactly What We Needed. And We Need It Now.

The hard launch has come and gone, but the energy is still buzzing. Flirrrt London isn’t just filling a void; it’s creating something entirely new: a vibrant, inclusive, and utterly joyful space for “well-seasoned” lesbians, their FLINTA* friends, and anyone who’s ready to ditch the dating apps and embrace real connection.

Flirrrt London’s next event is on April 4th, 2025! Tickets start at just £8.50 and are available on their website: flirrrtlondon.com. Follow them on Instagram @flirrrtlondon for updates and a sneak peek at what’s in store. Don’t miss out – before another queer space bites the dust!
