If you want something more casual, Blank Coffee (important to note, this is not Blank Street Coffee, this ones the independent one) does top-tier flat whites, good pastries, and calm energy for a slower start.
The Afternoon Thing
A Walk Through Brockwell Park
Grab a takeaway coffee and head to Brockwell Park – the views over London are worth it, and it’s close enough to feel spontaneous. Sit on the grass, talk about anything but work, and if it’s warm, stop at the Brockwell Lido Café for a drink in the sun.

Closest Tube: Brixton (Victoria Line) or Herne Hill (National Rail)

Or, if you’d rather stay central, wander around Pop Brixton for a quick drink or browse – it’s always busy, but in a fun way.
If It Goes Well
Drinks at Lost in Brixton
You’ll find Lost in Brixton hidden above the market – all brick, plants, and decent cocktails. The atmosphere hits that nice middle ground between relaxed and buzzy. Go for something with mezcal or gin, grab a seat near the edge, and people-watch.
If you’re still not done, head to The Blues Kitchen for live music and late-night food, or The Whiskey Tumbler for some cocktails in a true Irish pub, if you go on a Sunday from 5:30 they will have a band playing traditional Irish music.

Wrap-Up
Brixton’s one of those places that does the work for you – full of things to do, but never trying too hard. Whether it ends after coffee or well past midnight, it’s the kind of date that feels easy, unforced, and probably worth repeating.
See you next time for the next instalment of The Date Edit.
