Yoga can sometimes feel more like a performance than a practice – rooms full of handstands and advanced poses that, while impressive, can make you wonder if you’re in the right place. Liquid Movement, founded by two queer women in Hackney Wick/Bow, offers a gentler alternative: an open, airy studio built on inclusivity, calm, and connection. Founders Casey and Bekefi, two queer women, explain that they are aware of their own privilege and have poured their hearts into creating a studio that actively centres diversity, equity, and care, where everybody is welcome, every story matters, and movement is celebrated in all its forms.
The founders explain that it’s not about keeping up or nailing the trickiest shapes; it’s about moving in ways that feel good, tuning into your body, and remembering that yoga is a lifestyle, not just a workout. And absolutely, those playful and advanced poses might show up, but they’re more like sprinkles on top of a much bigger practice rooted in balance, awareness, and self-care. They want attendees to feel a sense of calm that doesn’t stop when class ends; that it comes with you into the rest of your day. A space that feels like home.

This is a place for anyone who’s ever felt like the wellness world wasn’t built with them in mind. Queer, trans, non-binary, people of colour, beginners, or simply anyone seeking a judgment-free zone: you’ll find space to breathe and belong here.
At Liquid Movement, atmosphere is everything, lighting sets the mood, and sound takes centre stage. With a professional-grade system, music isn’t just background; it shapes the entire experience. Whether you’re flowing through an energising vinyasa or melting into a restorative sound bath, the audio surrounds you, immersive, alive, and deeply personal.
The teaching team is a handpicked mix of some of London’s most talented instructors. They’re not just good at what they do; they know how to create spaces that are safe, inclusive, and genuinely uplifting.
While the roster of classes is top-notch. Liquid Movement focuses heavily on supporting fundraisers, hosting charity events, and even puts on listening sessions and soundscapes for when you just need to sit and absorb. It’s about healing, connection, and joy, both on and off the mat.
