A queer songwriters’ round is coming to Nashville this March

On Thursday, 5 March, Pride & Pen is bringing a songwriter’s round to JBJ’s Nashville – with queer artists as the headliners.

Let’s clear this up first. A songwriter’s round is live music. Artists sit on stage, take turns performing, and tell the stories behind the songs. It’s stripped back, a little vulnerable, and when it’s good, it’s very good.

Queer Capita – the nonprofit behind the night – has been building infrastructure for LGBTQ+ and allied professionals in the music industry since 2021. Career mobility programmes. Community-building. Access that doesn’t depend on who you know. Pride & Pen directly supports that work, keeping their resources free and accessible year-round.

The lineup

Hosting duties go to drag powerhouse Alexia Noelle Paris. The lineup includes Kristen Castro, Tyler Khors, Mercy Bell, Marielle Kraft, Adam Mac, Angie K and Morgxn – artists working across country, Americana and genre-blurred modern music.

And yes, it matters that this is happening in Nashville. In a political climate where queer rights are still treated like talking points, taking up space in Nashville isn’t small.
