Boston Sees it’s First Lesbian Bar Open in a Decade. Welcome Dani’s Bar.

Boston just got a new gem in the queer scene with Dani’s Queer Bar, its first lesbian bar in decades. Part of a larger wave of new queer women’s spaces popping up post-pandemic, Dani’s is all about welcoming Sapphic, trans, and non-binary folks. After hosting parties around the city, founder Thais Rocha turned that energy into a full-on bar, named after her dog! We love to see it.

According to NBC News, in May of last year, Thais Rocha was awarded a SPACE grant by Mayor Michelle Wu’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion, as part of a group of 24 small-business owners. This grant was instrumental in helping to bring Dani’s Queer Bar to life. After facing delays due to permitting issues, the bar—named after Rocha’s American Eskimo dog—officially opened its doors on September 12.

What’s the Vibe of Dani’s Bar?

Dani’s Queer Bar in Boston is a vibrant and welcoming space specifically for queer women, trans, and non-binary individuals. It hosts a variety of weekly events like drag shows, emo dance parties, and other performances that showcase the city’s queer culture. The atmosphere is inclusive and designed to allow people to feel comfortable and express their true selves. The bar is part of the broader “lesbian bar renaissance” and aims to fill a much-needed gap in Boston’s LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. With a dark interior and pink lighting, the bar gives off a perfect party atmosphere vibe.

The bar is open 11am -2am every day.

Something else about this bar that’s pretty epic to see is that they also offer private lounge hire. It’s pretty unique for a queer bar to offer a private lounge! Whether you’re planning a birthday bash, a reunion with old friends, or even a surprise engagement party, Dani’s Queer Bar has got your back. You can book their private lounge to create unforgettable memories in a space specifically designed to make your event stand out.

Regrettably, this is again another tasteless uninviting design: motor bike, pool table, looking so cheap, oh dear… Where do the more sophisticated (sapphisticated 😉 group go? This is again such a flop to me and watch it, it will not last.
