If you’re queer, single, and allergic to dating apps – good news. The legendary Sofar Sounds has a queer series called Sofar Queer, and their next Sapphic Singles Night is landing this August.

What is Sofar Sounds, and what is Sofar Queer?
You’ve probably heard of Sofar Sounds (if you haven’t… where’ve you been?). It started in a London flat back in 2009 with one goal: bin the sticky floors and shouty crowds, and bring the focus back to live music. Since then, it’s grown into a global thing, with secret gigs, unexpected venues, and over 400 cities. Intimate, off-the-radar, and always cool.
Now for the best part – Sofar Queer, the sapphic spin-off. A curated programme of shows and socials by and for the LGBTQ+ community. Proper community-led, not rainbow-washed, and with collabs under their belt with the likes of Pride in London, The Common Press, and more.
They’ve had some serious talent grace their stages too – Lazy Violet, Caxxianne, Storry, Bradley Jago, Jackson Rouse, Justin Peng, LAKY. Aka a playlist of queer artists that should be in your ears immediately.

Plus, there’s a slight dating in the mix. But don’t panic – it’s not cringe. No weird games. No being shoved into corners to “mingle”. This is a night driven by music, where queer women and non-binary folks are front and centre – on stage and in the crowd. You’re not expected to “network” or “sell yourself”. You’re just meant to show up, vibe, and see what happens.
