Great beer, without the booze: Queer Brewing launches a new 0.5% hazy IPA

Queer- and trans-owned brewery Queer Brewing has just dropped Brighter, Bolder, a brand new 0.5% hazy IPA that’s here to prove you don’t need booze for big flavour.

Inspired by their much-loved 6% hazy IPA Burst Into Bright, head brewer Andy Potter had a simple question: why should sober folks miss out on those juicy, full-bodied flavours? A very valid point, Andy.

So, he got to work. By blending elements from Burst Into Bright with Bold – Queer Brewing’s core alcohol-free pale ale – the team landed on something special. Brighter, Bolder is soft, pillowy and properly flavour-forward, with tropical notes, a hint of citrus, and none of the watered-down sadness that still plagues some AF beers.

Yes, it’s landing right in time for Dry January. But this isn’t a seasonal fling.

“For us, great alcohol-free beer stands on its own,” says founder Lily Waite-Marsden. “It’s not an afterthought or a replacement for ‘the real thing’. Many folks in our LGBTQ+ community are sober all the time, so having a consistent, high-quality alcohol-free offering is a central part of what we do.”

Which is exactly why Queer Brewing continues to invest in alcohol-free beers all year round – not just when the rest of the industry suddenly remembers sober people exist.

If you’re after something hazy, juicy and genuinely satisfying – whether you’re sober, sober-curious or just not in the mood for a hangover – Brighter, Bolder might be your new fridge staple.

You can grab it now via the Queer Brewing webshop.
