Westwell Skin Contact Ortega
Westwell’s 2022 Ortega is turning delicate vibes up a notch. Fermented on skins, matured in old Burgundy barrels, it bursts with dried florals, orange blossom, apricot, and fennel, with a whisper of tannin and herbs. Light, intriguing, and super versatile-perfect with seafood, salads, or a chill pasta night in.
Tillingham ‘Ortega’ Orange Wine, East Sussex
This Ortega is fermented in Georgian Qvevri, giving it a gorgeous floral bergamot and spice aroma, with a subtle smoky clay texture on the palate. Notes of white peach, lychee, and a zing of orange peel add an elegant twist, while a whisper of flor ageing brings just the right hint of complexity. Limited to under 1,000 bottles, it’s perfect for gifting.
Tillingham ‘Ortega’ Orange Wine, East Sussex
If you’re looking to bring a bit of class to the date that feels cool and not “my boss gave me this at Christmas,” this is it. You get two bottles made with minimal faff (low-sulphur & minimal intervention).
Niepoort Nat Cool Tinto from Dão – an easy-going, gluggable red. Chakana Ayni Chardonnay – no fining, no filtration, just crisp complexity and zippy acidity.
‘Esi’ 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé
English red that refuses to play by Cab Sav rules. Think sherbet vibes, nectarines and rhubarb, with a cheeky lick of old French oak. She’s textured, a bit herbaceous and rocking that signature English acidity. Basically, your new crush in a glass.
Shoutout to Renegade Urban Winery in Walthamstow.
Codorniu Vintage Organic Cava Brut
This is your go-to Cava when you want bubbles but at a very affordable price tag. A classic blend of Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada, it’s pale gold, fresh and apple-crisp with a whiff of flowers. Made the proper way (second fermentation in-bottle), it’s basically Spanish sparkle done right.
