WANTED at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 – Queer Crime Drama Shortlisted for Popcorn Award

Imagine Sugar Rush meets The Bling Ring, but queerer, funnier, and just the right level of messy. WANTED is the new play from Eleanor Higgins, co-starring Naomi Denny and Kit Sinclair, directed by Emily Aboud and dramaturged by Somebody Jones. It’s already been shortlisted for a Popcorn Award, marking it one of the must-see shows of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025.

What’s It About?

Two girls from completely different worlds meet on the late 2000s LGBTQ+ scene. Erica and Jessie quickly bond over their shared obsession with Tony Soprano and Lindsay Lohan, before finding themselves on a mission to fight back against a world that’s only ever left them wanting. What starts as friendship quickly spirals into a chaotic ride through crime, class, race, privilege and learning how to make peace with the past.

It’s a heist story with heart – sharp, funny, and unafraid to show vulnerability. Expect plenty of dark nostalgia and some painfully relatable moments for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider.
