New music: Lost Girl – ‘Wild’

There’s a new name for your pre-Pride playlist. Reading-born R&B artist Lost Girl has just dropped ‘Wild’, and she’s bringing it to the Global Majority stage at Pride in London on Saturday 4 July.

‘Wild’ follows her March single ‘Romeo’, and it’s the sound of someone shedding her inhibitions. Sultry, confident, electro-R&B – and for Lost Girl, who’s bisexual, it’s also about stepping fully into herself. She’s been refreshingly open about where it came from: ‘Wild is about me claiming back my sexuality after years of not feeling comfortable in my feminine energy,’ she says. “This song is fun and allowed me to let loose in ways I haven’t before.”

Not across her yet? Quick catch-up: over 12 million global streams, a viral streak that saw her Chris Brown reinterpretation hit 1.5 million views in a day, and support from BBC 1Xtra, BBC Introducing and Pandora. CLASH, Notion and Hunger have all tipped her, and her TikTok is past half a million. Fans are already after a Kehlani collab, which tells you where this is going.
